There we go again

Dear all,

I've fallen in love again, badly as always. Ever since we celebrated my 6th birthday in Australia I knew I wanted to come back here, and now about 14 years after the last time, I did just that, however by myself this time. Australia has been absolutely amazing and has captured my heart forever.

I started my blog at Kuala Lumpur Airport and I'm uploadng my last Australian blog here as well. I didn't know exactly where to start telling about the past 5 weeks though!
Saturday the 25th of July, Steph and I got in our awesome Hippie camervan and hit the road. Crazy looking back at it now, we barely knew each other! But over the events of sneaking into camping sites, going on trips to Fraser Island, sailing to the Whitsundays, going on our Arrawarra surf camp, jumping out of planes, petting kangaroos, cuddling koalas, establishing relationships with random bathroom cats, driving over snakes, witnessing damn big squirrels, which turned out to be a possum (in my defense I didn't expect possums at Hyde Park, Sydney), massive bats, scuba diving with turtles, feeding dolphins, feeding lorikeets, thank god not feeding crocodiles, sort of feeding dingo's.., feeding wallabies, (wow a lot of animal stuff going on here!), exploring islands, exploring rain forests, swimming at waterfalls, going out, being hangover and spend like 4000 kilometers together, it's pretty safe to say that I've got a dear new friend for a lifetime!!

It's surreal how you can constantly pump into the people you meet along the way too. Annika from our first week's surfcamp whom we saw again in both Surfer's Paradise and Cairns, Anki from Fraser Island whom we met with at Airlie Beach again and aaaall the other random encounters at lookouts, in small towns, or big cities. All these awesome people we've met along the way have made our trip even more memorable, and I sure look forward to seeing them again already!

After a few last days spend in Sydney and Melbourne I boarded my plane to Kuala Lumpur tonight, and it's in this same very plane that I'm writing this blog. I can't sleep. Hard to believe for those who know me well, and how I can sleep anywhere any time. I don't even feel the urge to go to sleep. It's 1am and according to the map which is shown on the display in front of me it still is 4183 kilometers to go to Kuala Lumpur which will take us about 5 hours.
The woman who constantly pushed my arm out of her way while asleep is bothering her husband on her other side now, and apart from that and the guy left in front of me who's watching The Curious Case Of Benjamin Button, everything else is quiet and dark. I'll probably go watch a movie myself, and just let the past weeks sink in before starting my new China adventure. Sad to have left Australia, but excited for the time to come!
